Hi! My name is Anna Croft. I am 26 years old, happily married to the man of my dreams, bit of a career girl, and proud owner of a 1yr old golden retriever. I am a Jesus Follower (aka Christian) and want my life to demonstrate God’s love. I have always lived in Queensland, Australia but would love to see as much of the world as possible (so far have been to South Africa, Taiwan and Bangladesh). I have been working in the health industry for about 3 years now and really enjoy helping people with their health.
2 years ago, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and was told that taking my oral contraceptive pill was all the treatment I required until I wanted to have kids. The oral contraceptive pill is widely accepted as the first line treatment for symptoms of PCOS, but can sometimes actually increase insulin resistance which is something we need to avoid as we are already at higher risk of diabetes. When I discovered this, I realised that the pill was just a “band-aid” solution and wasn’t really fixing anything.
I started reading more into managing PCOS naturally which has lead me to writing this blog as I am going to stop taking the pill. This blog is a way of documenting the changes I will make to try and control my symptoms. I’m hoping that blogging will challenge me to keep going with the changes and not give up. I intend to write a post at least once a week.
